Volunteer Coordinator

Overview
A Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for managing and overseeing the recruitment, training, scheduling, and engagement of volunteers to support Greater Attleboro Area Council for Children’s mission and programs. The role involves creating a positive volunteer experience, ensuring volunteers are effectively utilized, and fostering strong relationships with individuals and groups who support the organization. This position is vital to the successful operation of the Greater Attleboro Area Council for Children, as volunteers are integral to our services and impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Executive Director to assess volunteer needs for various initiatives

  • Assist in the development and implementation of new volunteer-driven programs or activities

  • Community Outreach & Partnerships

Qualifications

  • Experience in nonprofit management, social work, communications, or related field (preferred)

  • Proven experience in volunteer management or community engagement

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

  • Passion for the mission of the organization and a commitment to supporting volunteerism

Working Conditions

This is an unpaid, part-time volunteer position (~10 hrs./wk.) designed to provide individuals with an opportunity to contribute to the mission of Greater Attleboro Area Council for Children while gaining valuable experience in nonprofit work. Most duties can be performed remotely. We greatly appreciate your time and commitment to our cause, and we strive to ensure a rewarding and fulfilling experience for all our volunteers.

  • The role may require flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate volunteer availability and special events.

  • Occasional travel may be necessary for outreach and partnership-building efforts.

  • The position may involve office-based work, as well as fieldwork in community settings.
