If you've gotten this far in the process, you probably already know a little bit about the Greater Attleboro Area Council for Children. You probably know that we are a community-centered organization, so the money you give us stays local. Our operating expenses are less than 10% of our gross income. That means that we are very efficient with the money that is given to us, making sure that as much as possible is available for programs and services for the children in our area.Our programs are run by volunteers and most of our volunteers have been with us for over 5 years and many have been with us for more than 10 years! You may also already know that our Christmas is for Kids Program, that began in 1983, helps over 1,000 children each year. But did you know that the parents of those children come to classes to reinforce budgeting, job search skills, and parenting skills? We want to help parents learn to help themselves because we believe that if the parents can model good financial behavior, the children will learn from their example.

We find simple solutions to what can be complex issues and implement them without help from the state or federal government. This is the definition of a "grass-roots" organization.
